As Chief Counsel for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), Sema Corbaci is responsible for navigating and managing all legal and regulatory matters in the diverse MEA markets where Cigna Healthcare carries out its mission to improve the health and vitality of its customers.

Based in Dubai, Sema will be a strategic partner on the Middle East and Africa Executive Committee and lead the regional legal and compliance team, bringing more than 17 years of experience in financial services and regulation in Europe and the Middle East.

Before joining Cigna Healthcare, Sema was a Counsel in the finance team of an international law firm in London, assisting clients with portfolio transactions and strategic change projects and deploying her strong relationship, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Prior that, Sema was Head of Legal, Middle East and Africa for an international bank, working out of Dubai and London, having begun her career in debt capital markets at another international law firm.

Sema studied law at the University of Oxford and has a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence and has been admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales since 2007.
